Adventure Activities for Upper Schools

Adventure in the Environment for Primary and Middle Schools

Courses combine adventure activities with environmental study/exploration. Visits to educational attractions (castles, museums, zoos etc) can be included.

Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award Residential / 16 years+ Multi-Activity Courses

These are multi activity weeks aimed at people between the ages of 16 to 25 who wish to complete their DofE gold residential project (Although we welcome anyone else between these ages on these courses). For the course to qualify for the award, no there are some limits on the number of people that may come from any single DofE unit. We run the full range of activities and plan a program based on the abilities of the students attending the courses.

GCSE & A Level PE

We run two types of GCSE & A Level PE courses:

1. We can train and assess one sport (Rock Climbing, Orienteering, Kayaking or Hillwalking) for GCSE or A Level.

2. We can use the adventure activity environment and theory lectures to illustrate and apply specific topics from within the syllabus, such as adventure and risk, motivation, skills acquisiton, contemporary issues and physiology as a contrast to their application within the context of more conventional sports and team games.

We run field courses to support courses of study in these subjects at all levels from age ten (often mixed with adventurous activities) to degree level.

We design and deliver various courses of two to six day duration for College based groups on NEBS or CMS courses or Work Place Teams.

Mountain Leadership & Rock Climbing Supervision

We run training and assessment courses for adults wishing to obtain national governing body awards in these subjects (Mountain Leader (Summer), ML Training and ML Assessment; Walking Group Leader, WGL Training and WGL assessment; Single Pitch Award,Training and Assessment; St John's Ambulance Bangor First Aid Scheme, First Aid for Mountaineers and Rescue and Emergency Care Remote First aid).

Adult Adventure Recreation Courses

Blue Peris offers a range of short weekend courses for adults based in White Peris self-catering accommodation including sea kayaking, general adventure, pre-ML or SPA assessment and specific adventure activity skills training.

Leadership in the Outdoors for Student Union Clubs

Improve ability, safety and people skills to make sure fun doesn't end in tears. Mountaineering, climbing and kayaking - instruction and qualifications.

Adventure Activities

The maximum group size is ten people, unless otherwise stated. All activities can be tailored to the needs to the group. Most half day activities can be combined and we occasionally fit three activities in a day, especially for certain groups or venues.

Charges are based on a daily rate of £220 (7 hrs), half day rate of £145 (4 hours) or £100 per evening (2 hours) including all essential specialist equipment.

Mainly students from schools, colleges and training establishments. Individual adults come on skills training and assessment courses (Mountain Walking, Rock Climbing, First Aid), and organisations send management staff and/or trainees on management training.

Age Range

Ten years to middle aged, although mostly students aged 13 to 35.

Accommodation

Most of our groups stay in comfortable fully catered dormitories which sleep 48 in six rooms, with single rooms for accompanying staff.

A self-catering annexe (White Peris) which sleeps twelve (at a push) is used for older groups and is also available with or without instruction for members of the public to stay in.

Non-resident groups who choose to use local hotels, hostels or bunkhouses can book instruction by arrangement.

We have an excellent safety record and highly trained instructors and teachers.
