Pete Roberston

Instructor

My love of the outdoors started at the age of about 12 when my brother and I discovered the joy and excitement of exploring the old quarries and tunnels of Dinorwic, much to my parent’s horror.

Naturally this lead onto an interest in all holes in the ground and by the age of 16 my love of caving had developed into a hobby.

This lead on to me exploring the hills and mountains and before I had a chance to think about it I was climbing, caving and mountaineering at every opportunity and encouraging others to do the same.

As my experience of these activities have developed I have found myself spending more and more time working with people of all ages and giving them the opportunity to discover the great outdoors.

These interests have taken me too many countries all over the world including most of Europe, Morocco, The US and a couple of years ago a month long climbing trip to China.

In recent years I have devoted considerable time to being a member of Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team and this has once again has given me the opportunity to encourage people to explore the mountains and train them to do this in a safe and enjoyable way.

My favourite times are spent with my wife doing all of these outdoor activities whilst travelling to new countries and meeting people from all over the world with similar interests.

But I must not forget where I choose to live, Snowdonia, a wonderful wild outdoor landscape and somewhere that still gives me great enjoyment.
