School Groups - GCSE, AS & A Level

The outdoor environment gives a real life context to the studies students do in the classroom, enabling experiential learning to complement your teaching. In addition to this, it provides an exciting stimulus which also enhances student's learning.

Feedback demonstrates that marks the students gain whilst at Blue Peris make a huge and positive contribution towards the overall grade that they attain in this subject.

Blue Peris tailors its courses to suit the needs of the subject of your choice. Our instructional staff team includes qualified teachers of science and geography as well as outdoor activities. Popular courses run on a regular basis are GCSE, AS and A2 PE, and GCSE geography.

Physical Education

On our GCSE, AS and A2 PE courses, activity options include Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Hill Walking and Orienteering. Throughout a course the students move from being a beginner to someone that could independently and safely participate in these sports.

Geography and Biology

Being located in the ecologically diverse Snowdonia National Park, and close to the beaches of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsular, Blue Peris is perfectly situated to undertake field studies in both geography and biology. The experience and local knowledge of the Blue Peris Staff give any group the opportunity to study these environments in full. For example, we can focus upon:

  • Coastal landforms
  • Sand dune morphology
  • Conurbation studies and comparisons
  • Glaciation
  • River studies from the mountains to the sea
  • Primary industries and their impact

Many of these study days can be combined with adventurous activities to enhance the enjoyment of and learning about our mountain or coastal environments.

Course format, structure and costs

This is designed in consultation with schools so that we can cater for their requirements. Therefore, costs are based on the programme which can often be tailored to suit budget. Please contact the centre for further details.

“Thanks very much everyone for a great trip. It is the first GCSE PE trip we have run so it was very pleasing to see the plans put into action. The pupils certainly got a lot from the trip, including fantastic grades. See you next time for our A level trip”
