Blue Peris Mountain Centre is a non-profit making Outdoor Education Centre managed by Bedford Borough Council DSD leisure services
The Centre has a history of over thirty years of successful and safe operation.
Although the Centre primarily serves Schools and Colleges from the Bedford area, courses are also available to the wider education community and enquiries are welcomed.
Blue Peris is a shared service between the two unitary councils of Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council.
The Centre has always sustained a culture of development and initiative in the world of Outdoor Education.
In particular Blue Peris is well known for ensuring that Outdoor Education programmes are clearly linked to learning outcomes whether these be in the field of Personal and Social
Education or Curriculum Support such as GCSE or A Level PE.
Blue Peris was one of the first Centres to introduce a Trainee/Assistant Instructor Training Programme and to be awarded Investors in People status.
Blue Peris has had a long association with the Mountain Leader Training Board in providing Mountainwalking Leader (ML) and Single Pitch Rock Climbing Leader (SPA) Training and Assessment Courses.
Blue Peris is a Welsh Canoeing Association Approved Centre and is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.
