First Aid (REC)

Rescue and Emergency Care

Outdoor First Aid

Relaxed, friendly, practical, fun and professional first aid training for all.

We are one Wales' leading providers of Rescue and Emergency Care (REC) first aid courses. Mark Baggy Richards your tutor has been involved and teaching within with REC for over 16 years. He started out on his first aid path whilst working for Plas-Y- Brenin delivering courses there.

Our courses are delivered in a way that promotes an enjoyable and friendly learning environment. REC courses are not designed to overload you with terminology, but to provide training that will equip you to deal with a wide range of first aid scenarios. Sitting in a classroom for 2 days is not what this course is about. Its about building confidence and getting hands on.

The 2 day course is ideally suited for instructors, teachers, youth workers, voluntary assistants/leaders, climbers, canoeists, expedition providers, park wardens, shopkeepers; actually it is relevant to anyone who wishes to gain an understanding of first aid and requires a 16 hour based first aid qualification.

The course meets the requirements for most National Governing Bodies such as ; Mountain Leader Training (MLT), Canoe Wales (CT), British Canoeing  (BC), DofE, Scouts, Girl Guides,  etc.

REC has been established for over 30 years and has approved and endorsed trainers across the UK and within Europe.

The course format / C19

You will participate in a variety of on line sessions run by Mark, undertake some home learning questions and then attend the centre on 20th February 2021. This limits face to face contact time.

Whilst attending the centre on the 20th February, we will cover new and existing aspects of first aid using discussions and practicals. This will be outside / under cover outside.  No indoor teaching, thus cutting out using a contained teaching environment.

Each candidate will use their own manakin, a first aid kit provided by the centre, and separate resources. If you do not wish to undertake hands on first aid with another real life person, then we have manakins and dummies you can use.

Any more questions ref C19 then please do get in touch

Do you require any previous experience?
No previous first aid experience is required, we cater for all abilities.

Are you assessed ?

There is no formal assessment. However, you need to engage in scenarios and demonstrate you can carry out CPR and use of a de fib.
